The fact that he knew that it was weird but chose to pursue it anyway speaks volumes. But may God continue to bless your family and may you both serve as stronger guardians for your children.Laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04770563229443956361noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-78675132061819861772014-03-05T14:15:25.109-08:002014-03-05T14:15:25.109-08:00Sweet Allix,

I really liked your style and how you wrote your thoughts to go with your pictures; things about people, places, events, or even just what you happened to be thinking at the time. As I scrolled through photos and read little snippets of your life, I felt that I was seeing the world through your eyes and it was new and fresh and lovely. You put a piece of yourself and your heart on this blog, for all the world to see, and to me that is incredibly brave. Your sincerity, love for beauty and Jesus, and your realness about life and it's struggles and joys have all been a breath of fresh air to me. I have loved reading Trevor's and your story. I would check back every few days in the hope that you had updated. I was thrilled when you told your engagement story and I heartily agree with you on what you said in this post! Thank you for your openness and for allowing us the privilege of sharing in a part of your life! May God bless you and Trevor and draw you ever closer to Him and to each other for the rest of your lives!
Blessings,
SarahAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06020642761758000236noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-44971081113029645062014-02-11T16:06:10.281-08:002014-02-11T16:06:10.281-08:00You guys are Beautiful:) You guys are Beautiful:) laurenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16700234180228981010noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-41715245088676696652014-02-11T02:56:10.852-08:002014-02-11T02:56:10.852-08:00wonderful blog.

Two of my favorite ladies and young mamas both got married at 19, and watching them and their lives and their marriages and their families has made me appreciate their young marriages that much more.
I know that everybody has different stories (and many of my favorite wonderful women got married later on in life), but I have always hoped and prayed that maybe I will get married younger. Who knows what will happen, but I loved and appreciated your words, both about getting married young and being content wherever you are in life.
I am so glad for both of you, and can't wait to see where the Lord will take you both. <3Marina Lind Schmitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05922112356454714175noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-6437324814675008202014-02-10T16:09:51.705-08:002014-02-10T16:09:51.705-08:00I can't wait to see what Jesus does in and thr...I can't wait to see what Jesus does in and through this amazing journey of you two...I know it's already encouraged me so much. I'm not very good at encouraging posts, but bear with me. . .

While I was mature for my age when I married, I see now I was still naive (I'm not saying that about you!). I knew nothing of true suffering and sacrifice, and the wisdom and depth of having learned from those things. There have been times of intense grief, struggle, and relentless pressure over the last 4 years.

BUT! by God's grace, God has grown our roots deeper in Him and to each other through it all. He has used it to knit our hearts together more than ever. Sure, there have been times when I wish I had had "freedom", but that has never outweighed my gratefulness for where I am now, in spite of the challenges we have faced. I'm truly grateful I have gotten to "grow up" and "grow together" in my formative years with my man. I really feel like we have been better off for it. I'd marry him a thousand times over at 18 (or younger if we had known each other!). He is gift from God to me. Marriage has been a truly wonderful and sanctifying experience I wouldn't trade for the world.

So...all that to say, I want to encourage you that while I do think "Curious" had a valid point in terms of talking about life experience, the bottom line is that you both be dedicated to the Word of God and loving Jesus above all else. God has grown me and guided me in spite of my "lack of life experience".

From all appearances, you've both sought the Lord in this and gotten godly counsel encouraging you to marry and are responding in faith! And I say go for it. I'm incredibly happy for y'all and the journey you are about to embark on!

-Hope

p.s. If you ever need someone to reach out to, as a young wife who heard everything you're probably hearing about divorce (etc.), and experienced some intense trials that first year, I'm only a facebook message away for support or questions. :)

p.p.s. Hopefully this came across as encouraging? I'm running on 2 hrs of sleep, lol.Hope Hhttp://www.hopehelmsblog.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-19906410821489500862014-02-10T13:22:38.008-08:002014-02-10T13:22:38.008-08:00This was beautiful. And even though I don't have a ton of experience with this, I think you're spot on. :) I've always felt drawn to getting married young and thought it was something really special. (Who knows what will happen in my next few years :P) I personally think all those things - traveling, dances, working, just general "experiences" that people think you will miss out on - will be that much more fun with a man who is devoted to you and who you are devoted to by your side. All that to say, I am VERY excited for you and Trevor and I really, really, really wish I could come to your wedding! ;)
<3Oliviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03887290107939234336noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-59662043941933174942014-02-10T12:49:39.937-08:002014-02-10T12:49:39.937-08:00Truly a great reminder.Truly a great reminder.Madeline Elizabethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12910480506041726020noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2177738057224181638.post-80001934953293560432014-02-10T12:40:43.571-08:002014-02-10T12:40:43.571-08:00Oh Allix, this is beautiful. I think about that a lot--they must just have way more self-control than me or something. sheesh! being engaged to my fiance was amazing, but honestly, it was completely by God's grace and our short engagement that we made it with absolutely no regrets. so, so beautifully worth it. but way harder than I thought it would be. But like you said, if you know for sure it's the Lord's will, why wait a couple years more? To test yourself and him to the limit? That reminds me of playing with fire. You wrote this so excellently, and I appreciate you using your gift of words to edify others. Congrats, and I wish you the best!
