"One of my oldest memories of you is when you were reeeeally little, like one year old...maybe even younger, and I was holding you up...at Mam-maw's house. It was just you and me and I was trying to get you to say Mitchell. I would say it slow and you were completely locked and focused, watching my mouth move trying to say it.
I'll never forget it."
This family is my family. Mitchell is my oldest cousin. He was the closest thing to a big brother that I ever experienced. There were many times, aside from his oldest memory, that I was in his arms as a toddler. I was his little buddy. I remember when there was suddenly a verrry pretty girl in his life. They were inseparable high school sweethearts. I remember being at his and Brandi's wedding when I was a frizzy headed 8 year old with buck teeth. They, at the ripe old age of 21, looked like a Prince and Princess, with wide smiles and a glint in their eyes, just waiting to begin their fairy tale together. As the years past I obviously wasn't the cooing baby or the chubby 8 year old anymore. And Mitchell and Brandi grew up into bigger titles than just the Prince and Princess...they became Mama and Daddy to a quirky, quick witted, boisterous, adventurous, soft spoken and yet huge personality: Maggie Grace...who was soon followed by the giggly, girly, nurturing, softhearted, curly-q little sister: Anna Claire. One and then two blonde hair blue eyed beautiful baby girls entered their lives. And these girls? They managed to quickly and irreversibly wrap me around their sweet little fingers. And now they are wrapped tightly around my heart. All four of them are. So in a way I feel like I'm sharing a piece of myself by sharing these photos with all of you. I hope these show even a little bit of the love I have for them and the love they have for each other. Family ties...they really are a splendid thing. :)
Did I mention they're a gorgeous family? Because, yeah...they are.
Do any of you, by any chance, remember the tiny beagle puppy in the snow from this post? Charlie is all grown up now too. ;)
It's hard to believe 10 years have gone by since that day in August when these cuties said "I do." :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of family photos! I really find this post so inspiring. The lightings and the location is absolutely incredible. These are indeed great moments caught. Family portraits are great souvenirs, thus, investing much for this is indeed an advantage. This enables a family to treasure all those precious moments they had. Thanks for sharing.
