Rachel Leigh and a Button Bracelet :) {Karnack, TX portrait photographer}

Buttons.

love buttons. Especially old unique colorful ones. What would the world be if all buttons were just small and round and white?!
I would call that a pretty blah world.
The fact that buttons have always come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors adds an extra zest to life. :) I always like thinking up new ways to use these little jewels and recently I've discovered a way that others enjoy too. I have a question for you....what do you do with old button-up shirt cuffs? Those shirts from your grandmother and great-uncle that went out of style waaaaay before you were born?....well this is what I've been doing with them lately.

Button Bracelets. :)

Just an old shirt cuff with some buttons to add some extra pi-zazz. :D I've made several and each one is cuter than the next. This particular one (which I have decided to call Her Majesty's Adoration) I gave to Rachel Leigh. It captures her personality very well I think. Especially when she's wearing it. :)

Dear Rachel was kind enough to let me do an impromptu photo-shoot of her modeling my creation. :D

The little heart button totally makes it her. :)

Cause she's such a lovin' kinda gal ;)

Isn't she gorgemous?! :D

Hopefully I can have my bracelets on Etsy or something soon so lots more people can be sporting them. :) And in the meantime I have to think of a clever title for my bracelet business...got any ideas?? send 'em my way! ;D

*Cough Cough* *Sniff Sniff* {northeast, tx lifestyle photographer - personal}

The only thing wrong with doing nothing is that you never know when you're finished.  ~Author Unknown

This illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it. ~John 11:4

I have emerged, for a moment, from the sea of tissues, cough medicine, vitamins, comforting quilts, and thick wet air made possible by my humidifier that I have been plunged into all week. Oh deary....never did I think that while everyone around me was dropping like flies and getting The Cold of the Spring Season that I.would.be.next. :P

I see a light at the end of this dark and bleak tunnel of sickness but for now I must be content to be inside of it. It helps to have parents staging as nurses for awhile. I thought I would let you all know that perhaps I'm not dying after all...but I still need your prayers. :) They are all much appreciated.

Day-quil and Vicks vapor rub....wouldest thou bring me relief??? please???

My room is very much like a sauna these days with this little baby puffing out its magic clouds . The air must remain wet if I am ever to get better says Dr. Mother :)

These are my tools of the trade....a remote to play movie after movie, trying to lift my spirits and the phone to page my caretakers ;) My main responsibility: Call every time I empty my glass of water so that I may get a refill. I'm purty sure I'm turning into a water ballon. :P

I am hopeful that a recovery is in my near future. In the mean time...I look positively awful, feel just slightly awful, and I want  to be well awfully bad.

Still kickin'!

Valentine's Day 2011 {northeast, tx lifestyle photographer - personal}

I don't understand why Cupid was chosen to represent Valentine's Day.  When I think about romance, the last thing on my mind is a short, chubby toddler coming at me with a weapon.  ~Author Unknown

Usually I don't think of anything at all on Valentine's Day. We, as a family, don't really do much to celebrate it...never have. But from time to time we realize that chocolate and roses aren't too terribly awful to receive on a holiday. ;)
My grandparents (seeing as though they own a bakery) love to bestow sweets upon us when February 14th rolls around and my Paw-Paw never fails to get me some heart-warming stuffed animal with a heart attached to it. :D

So, because our hearts were so joyful and warm after receiving such lovely gifts we made a spontaneous decision to go out...have fun and celebrate for a change. :) So we headed off just as God was painting a GORGEOUS sunset for us to enjoy.

There really is no better way to spend a mushy, gushy holiday than eating real-deal Texan food at the One and Only: Texas Roadhouse!!
Now that's what I like about Texas!
And they, being such sweethearts, gave all of us a Free Kiss because of the occasion. :)

♥Happy Belated Valentine's Day Everyone! :) ♥

 A cheerful heart is good medicine. -Proverbs 17:22

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.  ~E.E. cummings

I have one sister that is eight years older than me. No other siblings.
However, these girls that you see below are just like family to me. I loooove 'em to death and really they are my sisters...in Christ. :)

This girl to the right is Miss Susanna Joy. She and her family are temporarily living in Austin for a few months and we have been missing her like CrAzY!!!! :( She really is a jewel and I couldn't imagine my life without her. She makes all of us very happy. :)

(Pssst! When a beautiful mother daughter pair are sitting around I can't just sit there, ya know. ;) )

Anyways...Love you Susanna! And all my dear friends! :) God is so good to give you all to me.
