Quiet on the Set!! {dallas, tx lifestyle and portrait photographer}

When you see a silent movie,
you understand everything that's going on from the images
 because the images are so strong.
|Monica Bellucci|

Let me explain a few things before I get this post really going. Some friends of ours are filming a silent western movie for the SAICFF. {San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival} There were two scenes in particular that they needed some extras/actors to fill in the gaps. This post is about one of those scenes, because my parents, my two little cousins, and I were privileged to be apart of it! (To all you agents out there...our acting career is likely at a stand still for now so it would be best if you looked for your Next Greatest Movie Stars somewhere else.) ;D

Some of the film crew :)

Lovely co-extras ;)
My dad got to be "The Balloon Man" for a day. He said it was the most depressing job to have a handful of balloons with a crowd of giddy children surrounding him and he had to pretend like he was giving them out and then he'd have to take them back. The kids were SO confused! Finally at the end of the day they let him give them to the kids which made them (and him) over-joyed. :D
Aaaandd, there were TONS of ADORABLE littles there in their western costumes which made me oh-so-happy....as usual. ;)
~Josiah~
I don't remember this little girl's first name, but she is Josiah's older sister. Isn't this stunning, though?! Completely candid too! :D
~Bella Joy~
~Silas Kevin~
~Shiloh Knox~ (Pssst, he's turning ONE this week!! Happy Early Birthday Lo-las) :D
LOL! Well...excuse the "Wanted" Poster...this is Stephen Nehemiah and I'm quite positive he wouldn't hurt a flea.
Though he did keep that sling-shot nearby at all times. ;)
They're buddies :D
These are my cousins, Maggie Grace and Anna Claire (my favorite 5 and 2 year old in the whole wide world) ;D
They're sweet, caring, funny, adorable, and absolutely gorgeous...in both color
 and black and white. ;)

Rachel Leigh - Vintage Bridal {mt. vernon tx, bridal portrait photographer}

Hey all you people. :)
 Let me guess...you're here to see more of the amazingly gorgemous, Rachel Leigh??
 Well, there's good news and there's gooder news.
The good news is: I can deliver...BOY, can I deliver!!
The gooder news is: Even though she's not getting married right away, she played the part of a darling vintage bride and wore her grandmother's lovely wedding dress!!
It was spectacular.
Note: Because I am SOOOO in love with nearly all of the pictures I took of her, this post is FULL of collages. I was trying to sqeeeeze in all of the beautifulness as tightly as possible. And even so...this still is not the last blog post about Rachel! :D :D

"Let's start from the very beginning...a very good place to start. :)"
We began the vintage bridal shots at the breath-taking home of a friend of Rachel's mom, who lives in Pittsburg.
And theeeeennn....
Yes sirs and ma'ams....we went to the side of the road.
Arguably, one of THE best places to take pictures...period, exclamation point.
We captured the clouds' good side, cherished the Sun's shy rays, stepped over tall grasses, obviously got stung by a bee and didn't even notice it because I was so enthralled {this applies to me ;)}, watched lady bugs, praised God for Texas wildflowers, and pretty much enjoyed every leetle second of it. :)
Breathe in...breathe out...breathe in...AHHH! :D :D
Those shoes are the shoes her Mamie wore in 1961....let me repeat nineteen-sixty-one...they were not the most comfortable things for Rachel to actually put on her feet but they sure were adorable to hold! :D
And the belt....beautiful. The leather has gotten kinda stiff but...hey if it works, roll with it. :) P.S. Thank you Lord for coloring the Greene's hydrangeas the exact same color as this belt...it was such a kind thing to do. :) :)
Sooo...I know this is kinda a hop towards 70s, but that is exactly what it made me think of when I first looked at it! Something about her facial expression, the road, the clouds...something...I just had to edit it and see how it turned out...I personally am kinda in love with it. :D
One of my dearest favs :) :) :)
 Queen Anne's Lace is so fantastic!!
O how I love Him!
And, btw, as to the cute blue suitcase...Lillian (Rachel's Mamie) received that as a gift when she and Donald (Rachel's Papa) got married...its supposed to match the belt. :D
SO! On that happy note, I will wrap up this post...and once again, leave you hungry for more. :) But you won't have to wait until Monday...cross my heart and wish to cry. ;) They'll be here tomorrow morning for you to enjoy. :D

Rachel Leigh and a Button Bracelet :) {Karnack, TX portrait photographer}

Buttons.

love buttons. Especially old unique colorful ones. What would the world be if all buttons were just small and round and white?!
I would call that a pretty blah world.
The fact that buttons have always come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, and colors adds an extra zest to life. :) I always like thinking up new ways to use these little jewels and recently I've discovered a way that others enjoy too. I have a question for you....what do you do with old button-up shirt cuffs? Those shirts from your grandmother and great-uncle that went out of style waaaaay before you were born?....well this is what I've been doing with them lately.

Button Bracelets. :)

Just an old shirt cuff with some buttons to add some extra pi-zazz. :D I've made several and each one is cuter than the next. This particular one (which I have decided to call Her Majesty's Adoration) I gave to Rachel Leigh. It captures her personality very well I think. Especially when she's wearing it. :)

Dear Rachel was kind enough to let me do an impromptu photo-shoot of her modeling my creation. :D

The little heart button totally makes it her. :)

Cause she's such a lovin' kinda gal ;)

Isn't she gorgemous?! :D

Hopefully I can have my bracelets on Etsy or something soon so lots more people can be sporting them. :) And in the meantime I have to think of a clever title for my bracelet business...got any ideas?? send 'em my way! ;D
